Brown Recluse Spider Facts
- Name: Many believe that the black markings on the spider resemble a violin, which is the cause of it’s nickname, violin spider.
- Location: Brown recluse are native to the United States and are found in central Midwestern states. They are especially common in Oklahoma, Arkansas and Missouri.

- Eyes: The major identification method is an examination of the eyes of the brown recluse: the species only have six eyes while most spiders have eight eyes.
